Revive Wonder Crewneck
In speaking about the Eucharist, Cardinal Cantalamessa once said that we must “...revive wonder and marvel before the mystery.”
Mystery is at the center of our Catholic tradition. Every mass, directly after the consecration, the priest holds up the Eucharist and declares “The Mystery of Faith” – the exchange of His life for ours. God doesn't hide Himself from us, but rather draws us into greater intimacy with Him through mystery. It is here that wonder is revived – it is at once a moment of resurrection and also an eternal movement. We marvel before all that we don’t know. Just as we can't know every creature in the ocean and yet are still drawn to its beauty,
God is not a mystery in that He is unknowable, rather that He is infinitely knowable.
