“Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They neither toil nor spin.”

This is an invitation to slow down, to look at creation and see how deeply it rests in God’s care. The lilies don’t stress, they don’t strive — they simply exist where they’re planted, and still, they are clothed in beauty. How much more so should WE rest in His goodness and love for us.

What is even more compelling is that, just a few lines later, in verse 33, Jesus tells us HOW to rest in him. He says, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” That’s the other half of the same truth — peace doesn’t come from control or hustle, but from trust and right order.

GOODNESS that is tough. To trust a God that you can't see with literally everything in your life.

But that is what we are called to - to live in that rhythm — BOTH seeking God first, AND resting in the confidence that He provides.

He always has, He always will.
